Question:  How does Social Media affect teenagers?

Answer:
It is a trending thing in term of passage to people and it has both good benefit and bad benefits on children. Its benefits cuts across giving them information on current affairs, breaking news and also learning about hygiene, information around them and also historical ones. But because there is no regulation on what goes on into the media, social media in particular, no one edits it so all sorts of immoral things often find their way to the children like nude pictures, pornography, immoral things and sometimes, it exposes them to strangers especially facebook, instagram and likes. They can disguise to be of their age whereas they are of age and lure someone into falling in love or take advantage of them. It also causes bully. But its advantages shadows over the disadvantages.

Question:  Can social media result to addiction?

Answer:
Yes, anything that you find fun in and do everyday that becomes an habit. The fact that people get to use it everyday, to check pictures and chat, if this continues for as long as three months, it is clear that such thing might lead to addiction. And there are situations where even adults are addicted to social media especially whatsapp because it is very handy, you can easily view it unlike facebook. And since they are not immune to it, they become addicted.

Question:  How can you explain the concept of learning support and character building?

Answer:
Learning support is a general concept especially in Lagooz Schools. It is an activity to engage students one on one or in small groups which is totally different from a larger classroom setup of about 20, 20 students to a teacher. Learning support is about having a minimum of about 5 or 4 students to a teacher to learn. These children must have the same peculiarity in learning challenges which teachers can identify over the time and is trying to focus on that peculiarity unlike the normal classroom method where teachers teach generally and as such, there is no focus on individuals differences in spite of the fact that students are trying to be cautious and well behaved, there is still individual difference on how people view things and how people learn. Some children learn faster with evidence which some with prints or letters learn faster, there are also children who learn by hearing and it sticks faster to their brain.

This is better than the normal classroom setting and in some case, it is called private lesson teacher while character building is that it is not all students that are doing brilliantly well in academics that are also sound in morals and there is nobody that will obtain certificate in the university that you will not read under the certificate that having been proven worthy of academics and character, such person is awarded certificate. Nobody will write that having been proven worthy in academics then, we hereby award you, no institute of learning will do such. You must be sound in academics and equally sound in morals, so the concept of character building is a situation whereby you tend to teach students some values which cuts across integrity, honesty, punctuality, discipline and others.

The children will not only learn these concepts but the teachers, adults or parents taking care of them exhibits the characters in their day to day activities. Here in Lagooz, we model children to do the way we do, and the way we act and see the reason why value worths more than materialistic things because material things will fade away but value will follow you to everywhere in life and take you to higher levels so that is why we pay just as much attention in academics as in values.
